How might we help streamline the workflow of a job seeker by building an AI tool to help them?

In this case study, I’ll walk you through my process and how I designed an AI tool that scans a job description and edits your CV for a best match.

Challenges

The job search can be overwhelming and time-consuming for job seekers.

  • Applicants often struggle to find the time to tailor each application to the requirements of the job postings.

  • The traditional process lacks personalization and can result in missed opportunities for both job seekers and employers.

Solution

  • With our AI assistance, job seekers can save time, increase their chances of finding the right job, and stay ahead of the competition.

  • Our AI tool utilizes machine learning algorithms to analyze the keywords from job descriptions and match them to your CV.

  • Can act as a single source of truth to keep all data relating to the job search in one place.

How it works

  • Using Make.com to create an automated sequence.

  • Once a job description is pasted in the user’s Airtable document, it triggers the sequence.

  • A webhook scrapes the data and sends it to ChatGPT where it passes through a prompt about collecting the keywords from the job description.

  • Next it passes through another ChatGPT prompt, creating an updated CV for the user based on the keywords.

  • The output then appears in the same Airtable document which can then be pasted into a Google Doc for final editing.

  • The sequence takes a few seconds to execute.

Improvments

  • Keep engineering the prompts in ChatGPT to give better output.

  • Offer the job seeker more features such as location, job search by industry, skills etc. to offer even more personalized job recommendations.
